If you have never used our disks for dental cad/cam, we would suggest that you consider them in this order...
F-99 Arctic:
This machinable wax has been specially formulated to work better with "additive" waxes. If you occasionally like to modify your machined parts by adding or building up the finished surface with low melt-point or traditional carving waxes, F-99 is made so those waxes will actually stick and not flake off. F-99 Arctic is slightly softer and has a slightly lower melt point than our other machinable waxes but customers tell us the machinability is still great. Like our other waxes, the extreme lack of ash also makes it a great choice for lost wax casting or pressed ceramic applications.
ORANGE+
The ORANGE+ disks are a slightly more waxy and carveable formula for Dental CAD/CAM applications. Our machinable wax for dental CAD/CAM is put through an additional manufacturing step that we call MicroFine. The result is a machining wax that gives you the ability to create exceptional detail and have a minimum of cleanup after you are finished.
F-14 GREEN
The F-14 GREEN disks are our original wax formula for Dental CAD/CAM applications. Our machinable wax for dental CAD/CAM is put through an additional manufacturing step that we call "MicroFine". The result is a machining wax that gives you the ability to create exceptional detail and have a minimum of cleanup after you are finished.
BLUE
Our standard BLUE wax is an alternative to the F-14 GREEN. The blue will be slightly more elastic than F-14.
WHITE
White disks are made in a bright white and intended for presentation purposes or "wax-ups". Because of the coloring, this one will have some extra ash that doesn't exist in the other formulas. Keep in mind that the purpose for this white coloring is to make them look "extra pretty" when they are milled.
Regarding size...
You can view the dimensions that we use when producing these disks at this link. These dimensions fit most starndard machines that use a "98mm" disk. Alternate or special sizes can usually be supplied on request at NO additional charge.
If you are using our disks for the first time or you have purchased a new fixture, be sure to carefully check fitment before milling. Some fixtures are outside the original tolerances/specs and may require slightly different dimensions.
